Interior designers who specialize in medical facilities face the daunting task of combining aesthetics with spit sinks or X-ray machines, so it's about time that these hardworking professionals got their due. If the nonprofit American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers has its way, they'll soon be certifying health-care designers nationwide. This movement is the 50 AAHID founding members' way of raising the standard of health-care interior design. The first AAHID exam, slated for mid-2005, will cover building and health codes and knowledge of medical equipment.
We would love your feedback!
