Ron Arad—whose work has graced the galleries of the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York—has not had an American retrospective in nearly two decades. Next month that changes when New York art gallery Barry Friedman and auction house Phillips de Pury & Company present "Ron Arad," a two-part show of the architect's sculptural furniture and prototypes, including his renowned Big Easy and At Your Own Risk chairs. Several pieces have not been publicly shown before. At Barry Friedman; May 5–June 24; 212-794-8950; barryfriedmanltd.com. At Phillips, de Pury & Company; May 7–June 17; 212-940-1200; phillipsdepury.com.
