Twice a year, the modernist-minded Chicago auction house Wright holds an Important Design sale. June 8 is no different, with seating by Gio Ponti, Verner Panton, and Frank Gehry among the 20th-century furniture hitting the block—300 lots in all. June 24, however, is dedicated to a Private Paris Collection, as 100 lots of contemporary design and art from a single apartment go under the gavel. Look for such names as Serge Mouille, Tony Duquette, and Vladimir Kagan.
Clockwise from top: A single-owner auction at Wright in Chicago includes a sofa by Vladimir Kagan, a mobile by Xavier Vielhan, and an acrylic on canvas by Aya Takano. A Verner Panton chair from the biannual Important Design sale. Frank Gehry's chaise, being hammered down simultaneously.
