SPRMRT is a uber cool clothing/vintage furniture store in Amsterdam. This store was formerly a supermarket and thus the name. This old warehouse and has tall ceilings, industrial sky lights, and it has that thrown-together look of a supermodel wearing skinny jeans, a black t-shirt, heels, and dark circles under her eyes from too many nights of heavy partying. Know what I mean? Incidentally, the space is also styled like a supermodel’s bedroom who rushed out of the house leaving behind a bedroom stewn with rejected clothes.
I personally don’t mind shopping in a place like this if I think I might get a bargain, but I am not sure how many bargains were to be had. If I am paying top Euro, I just like my clothing stores a little more organized.
This store seemed intimidating and uncomfortable to me and as soon as I entered I felt the need to leave. It’s interesting as a designer to be aware of the way that interiors make one feel. Don’t have any answers for this one, it’s just more an observation.
