The Kingdom of Kindergarten
Last week, as I was helping out in my daughter’s third grade class, I was absolutely delighted to see an art project lining the entrance of the school. It looks like the kindergarten classes were asked to design and create a city.
They showed their ideas in a three-dimensional form using blocks and spools and other fun-shaped wooden objects painted in bright colors. They also had elevations of their cities.
I am so often inspired by my girls’ artwork here at home and I love how they dive right into a project without much thought or reservation. It’s refreshing and wonderful. We have a lot to learn from these budding artists and architects and the crazy little cities they create.
