Sorry for my absence last week, but I had a dog emergency. Ms. Biggs had to go to the emergency room, but please don’t send her any get well cards as she is out and doing well, at least as well as a 14 year old dog can do. It was touch and go at one point when I had to decide to agree to either pay the medical charges or to build that extra wing on the house. No extra wing!
I’m sure many of you thought I was at some retreat writing that promised Brokeback Manor coffee table book. My colleagues can breathe easy as it is still just an idea. True the Pulitzer and Pritzker committees have contacted me but I must ask myself, “are there coffee tables large enough to accommodate this plethora of books on décor and decorators?” Is there a Nobel Prize for decorating?
It’s been two weeks since I’ve visited my house. Mitch the contractor has told me to “wait until there has been more progress.” Snow and strong winds (but, of cours,e nothing to do with the fact that only two people are working on this house), have contributed to the delays. Again, pleasant surprises are awaiting me this Friday according to Mitch. Not sure if the television crews will be there, but I will have my trusty digital camera and will share the pleasant surprises with my readers. Next week’s blog holds great promise so keep the faith.
