Thanksgiving has come and gone along with hope of being in my house this winter. Winter fantasies of warming next to a roaring fire, stacking logs in the wood storage, and shoveling my way out of the driveway are probably not going to happen this season. What must seem like a nightmare to most of you Northeasterners, is a winter fantasy to this native Californian. Could be that after one season Brokeback Manor will be on the market and I’ll be scanning the Miami Times for assisted living accommodations, but for now the dream still lives. As for retirement plans, I will most likely be navigating the D & D Building in my wheelchair with a grimacing assistant in tow. Nightmare!
Tonight is the Interior Design Hall of Fame at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, the Oscars of the interior design world. I must be sure to download pictures of the house on my cell phone. Surely there will be many inquiries on its progress. Do you think it would be too presumptuous to ask Cindy to screen the house photos during the ceremony? I can’t imagine anyone not being interested in Brokeback Manor. I’m sure the new inductees wouldn’t mind.
In case you are unable to attend tonight’s festivities I will share the latest photos. These were taken two days after Thanksgiving. Don’t you think Contractor Mitch was a little off when he told me last month that I would be having my dinner there?
