Happy Happy Joy Joy
We just returned from a fantastic trip to Montreal with my family and our friends Brian and Kristina and their girls Tallulah and Sadie. Despite all the warnings of the icy climate (which made me wonder at times if we would ever survive our trip north to Canada), the weather was above freezing and extremely bearable. Our girls were troopers and happily followed us around the slushy city streets as we scoped out the scene. To mix things up a bit, we went ice skating in Old Montreal and also took the kids to see Cirque du Soleil. During the show I was spell bound by a young female character in a red dress carrying a bunch of red balloons. What is it about about these thin rubber inflated bags that arouses such an intense feeling of happiness in me? I am intrigued by the aesthetics of happiness--a box of crayons, colored pencils, bright balloons--it's all about color right? Color makes us happy and I feel like we need more of these happy triggers in our lives.
