Torlys Leather Floors: Recycled Gorgeous
Getting rid of a favorite pair of old shoes, a worn out handbag, or a no longer wearable leather jacket wouldn’t be so painful if you knew they would find another life—under your feet.
This is the concept behind Torlys Leather Floors— making use of materials that would otherwise find their way to local landfills. Made entirely with recycled materials, this luxurious plank flooring is long lasting, stunning in its look and feel, well priced and good for the environment.
The recycled leather is adhered to a premium HDF (high density fiber) “smart core” made from top quality exterior grade wood with no added formaldehyde. Though not FSC certified, it is made from pre-consumer wood waste scraps. The backing of the smart core is recycled cork, a totally renewable resource and a natural insulator that is also salvaged from pre-consumer waste for extra comfort, warmth, and quietness. This innovative use of cork eliminates the need for an underlay in most cases, saving time and money on installation.
Inspired by the quality of fine Italian leather, the collection of eight different styles available in planks and tiles, has been designed to be very dense and to stand up to the wear and tear of everyday living in all areas of the house with the exception of bathrooms. Best yet, the planks can be re-installed and used up to three times under the same 25-year residential warranty.
“We’re absolutely thrilled with the positive response we have received from the design community and consumers who are seeking a highly styled and sustainable alternative flooring,” says Charles Lammers, VP of U.S. Sales for TORLYS. “They love the combination of unique rich looks, durable wear and environmental benefits.”
Hey, aren’t those my Manolo Blahniks down there?
