Junk+ion's Clever Re-Use
Israeli design group Junk+ion finds humor and function in the obvious, the ordinary, and the discarded. While their concepts are not the most innovative, they have a certain "duh! why didn’t I think of that?" quality that brings new generations of function to the most vernacular objects. Often, their design concepts aren’t new at all, but just re-examinations or reorientations as small as turning something upside down, cutting it in half, or adding another element. Case-in-point, the wooden palette turned vertically to hold shoes, or the trunk opened up and stuffed with a cushion to create a bench. Check out all their genius here.
