ICSID Announces World Design Impact Prize
Design awards are everywhere these days, but this one might be the biggest, most global of all: The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID) just announced the launch of their World Design Impact Award, which will begin accepting nominations from its 160 member organizations (including the IDSA and others) in February. ICSID President Mark Breitenberg describes, "This new prize concept will create an international platform to encourage and promote projects that are solving actual social and humanitarian problems using the processes of the expanding field of industrial design." The biennial prize will come with a unique selection process including a public review. The winner of the inaugural prize will be announced at the ICSID General Assembly this October.
