It's a chair, it's a steps tool, it's Superbambi! The multifunctional unit, by Elda Bellone and Davide Carbone, consists of two painted-maple components that fit together in several ways to suit the situation. When in chair mode, the orange element stands upright with its two long prongs slipped through the four-legged white base at an angle. Armrests, extending nine inches from the backrest, double as coat hooks. Meanwhile, the orange piece inserts horizontally into the white unit's lower slots and quick-changes into a stepladder (or perhaps a child's desk), the armrests now serving as legs. Remove the orange section and what remains can function as a stool or side table.
